Drug-Free Marshals in Los Angeles

These two boys sure look proud of their work as Drug-Free Marshals. It's so good to see them make a commitment not to take drugs.

At a recent event aboard the Freewinds ship, David Miscavige, who is the Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center, took up the subjects of drug abuse and the horrible fact that kids at younger and younger ages are experimenting with drugs.

The event included a multi-media presentation on the Scientology Anti-Drug campaign.

I loved the fact that new booklets were written that really tell what drugs do to you - short, medium and long-term effects.

There are a large number of kids who get onto drugs because they buy the hype about them including false assurance that they aren't addictive.

One of the worst, if not THE worst, of these drugs is Meth. There's a booklet on Meth which includes the following statement:

"It is a highly powerful and addictive man-made stimulant that causes aggression and violent or psychotic behavior. Many users report getting hooked (addicted) from the first time they use it. It is one of the hardest drugs to treat."

Scientology Mission in Mississippi

Last summer, when the Hurricanes hit the gulf coast, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers from the Church of Scientology of Tampa were among the first to arrive, to provide the needed disaster relief.

Now there is a new mission in Mississippi, the first in that state!
